John M. Lavoie, 72, originally of Manchester died Friday, January 24, 2025, at home after a courageous battle with cancer, with his loving family by his side.
He was the son of Paula C. (Durocher) & Armand G. Lavoie, the 4th of their 8 children. He grew up in Manchester and graduated from West High School in 1970.
John was proud of his time in the Navy Seabees. His career included working at Dunbar Oil, Eastpoint Properties and as a tractor trailer driver with BSP Transportation for 30 years.
John enjoyed any outdoor activity including: walking, hiking, biking, snow skiing, traveling, and summers at Daniel’s Lake with his family. He was also proud to be a Boy Scout leader for his son Jeffrey’s troop 106 and particularly loved all the camping trips. One of his other many activities was being a soccer coach and referee. He was always there whenever anyone needed help.
John is survived by his wife of 49 years, Frances. His family members include his daughter, Jennifer Lavoie and her fiancé Roland Groux and Jeffrey Lavoie and his fiancée Candace Comer. John is survived by his siblings Paul Lavoie & his wife Deborah of Hooksett, Roger Lavoie of Manchester, George Lavoie & his wife Linda of Manchester, Denise Beaunoyer of Manchester, Donna Rheault of Manchester, and Albert Lavoie & his wife Rebecca of Dover; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Michael Lavoie, and his brothers-in-law Ray Beaunoyer and Joseph Rheault.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be Wednesday January 29th from 4 to 7 pm at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, January 30th at 11:00 am.
Burial services with military honors will be held Thursday February 6th, in the chapel at NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH at 10:00am.
