John Mihal, 97, of Manchester died November 19, 2017 at the Elliot Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Manchester on January 24, 1920, he was the son of Peter and Tekla Mihal. He was educated in the local school system, graduated from Manchester Central High School and was a member of the first graduating class from Hesser College. During WWII, he served in the US Army Air Corps, earning the rank of Captain.
Prior to retirement, he had been employed for over 25 years by Enterprise Car Rental. Previously, he had been employed by Bee Bee Shoe store as a supervisor for many years.
He enjoyed playing golf and supporting the New England Patriots. He had also owned and operated Pine Crest Farms in Londonderry where he trained harness racing horses for Rockingham Race Track.
Family members include his wife Jean Mihal of Manchester; his son, Chuck Prive of Manchester; his granddaughter, Lauren Prive of Hooksett; great-grandchild, Avery Reardon of Hooksett; his nephews, Scott Mihal and Celeste of Bedford, James Mihal of FL and William Mihal of AZ;
There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
