John C. Miville, of Bedford, died peacefully in his sleep on February 13, 2016 at the age of 69.
He was born in Manchester on September 7, 1946 to Marcel and Therese (Chabot) Miville. He was a proud Eagle Scout who graduated from Bishop Bradley High School and attended St. Anselm College in Goffstown.
John owned the Bedford Country Kitchen diner from 1979 to 1990. During the recent primary season, he reminisced about candidates who frequented his diner during the 1988 presidential campaign. A lifelong New York Giants fan, he often joked that the New England Patriots were his AFC team.
He was an amazing cook who beamed with pride watching people enjoy his recipes, especially his award-winning New England clam chowder. He also delighted in the laughter and love of his grandchildren.
In recent months, he had become quite fond of his new friends and the amazing staff at Easter Seals in Manchester. He disliked conflict and will be remembered for his kind and peaceful soul. He will be sorely missed.
He was predeceased by his wife of 30 years, A. Maxine (Scalli) Miville in 2000 and by a sister, Judy Lamarche.
The family includes his daughter, Nicole Morse and her husband, Brad, of Bedford; three grandchildren, Maxine, Elizabeth and his namesake, John; two sisters, Diane Sufat and her husband, Michael, and Elaine Webster and her husband, Raymond, all of Manchester; a niece and nephews, Gary Sufat, Daniel Sufat, Luke Webster, Sara Brown, Jonathan Lamarche and Benjamin Lamarche; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
Memorial donations may be made to Easter Seals, 555 Auburn St., Manchester, NH 03103.
