John J. Stone

He was born in Cambridge, MA on October 7, 1923, the son of John and Catherine (Coffey) Stone. He graduated from Boston Latin & English High School. John distinguishably served in the US Navy for several years. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a manager for AT&T Telephone Co.

John retired in Cape Cod for 28 years and enjoyed time spent there, boating, sharing cigars and golfing. He had a wealth of friends in the neighborhood who were family to him. He will be remembered as a "fix it" guy and a perfectionist, but above all else, a loving brother, uncle and friend.

The family includes his sister, Muriel Driscoll of Manchester; four nieces, Susan Leonard of Gorham, ME, Jan Driscoll of Manchester, Carol Szot and husband Paul of Newton, NH, and Barbara Driscoll of Brookline, NH; two nephews, Edward Driscoll of Salisbury, MA, and Paul Driscoll of Andover, MA; two grand nieces; three grand nephews; three great grand nephews; and one great grand niece.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at St. Peter Church, 567 Manchester Rd., Auburn. Burial with military honors took place at Massachusetts National Veterans Cemetery, Conery Ave., Bourne, MA 02532.
