John F. Swist

He was born in Manchester on April 30, 1928, the son of Thomas P. and Louise (Hudzik) Swist. He attended Manchester High School Central and earned his bachelor's degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He served in the US Army until his honorable discharge in 1951.

Prior to retirement, John had been employed as a project manager with Kehas Architects.

In his early years, he enjoyed skiing and playing golf. More recently, he spent much of his time walking, reading, listening to classical music and researching family history. He also enjoyed tutoring students at McDonough Grammar School.

Family members include his sisters Louise Sapowicz of Manchester and Sr. Bernadette Swist of Enfield, CT; several nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers Walter P. and Thomas A. Swist and a sister Dorothy Gaudette.

Per his wishes, there will be no public funeral services.
