John(Jack) F. Toomey, 55, of Manchester, died at the Catholic Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born in Lawrence MA on January 7, 1948, and was the son of Herbert and Rita(Walker) Toomey.
Jack was a graduate of North Andover High School. He had worked in the food services at St. Anselm College for many years. Recently he operated Jack's Snack and Lunch at the Norris Cotton Federal Building in Manchester and at the department of safety in Concord.
He loved boating and spending time at the lake. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Boston Celtics. Jack was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Rev. William J. Shanahan Division 1, NH, and the Knights of Columbus 4th degree of Lawrence MA council #3819 and a 3rd degree Knights of Columbus of North Andover MA also council #3819.
Family members include his wife of 29 years, Kathleen(Devine) Toomey, of Manchester; 2 sons, Sean Toomey, of Manchester, and Michael Toomey, of Goffstown; his mother; 2 brothers, Dennis Toomey, of North Andover MA, and Kevin Toomey, of Haverhill MA; several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday December 13, 2003 in St. Raphael Church, 103 Walker St. Manchester.
Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St. Bedford NH.
