John L. Wood, 68, of Hampton, died September 16, 2005 in the Exeter Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Dorchester MA, September 23, 1936, and was the son of John L. and Margaret (Casey) Wood. He lived in Hampton the past 8 years and had been a Manchester area resident most of his life.
He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955.
Mr. Wood was a retired personnel manager with UPS where he worked for 32 years.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren, Jason, Nathan, Hillary, Meghan, and Haley. He was an avid golfer and loved the beach
Family members include his wife of 45 years, Geraldine (Grindall) Wood of Hampton; a son, John L. Wood Jr. of Atlanta, GA; two daughters and sons in-law, Debbie and Dave Charest, of Hooksett, and Diane and Leo Lawrenson, of Suwanee, GA; five grandchildren; three sisters, Rita Nightingale, Gertrude Nault, and Lorraine Cotter, all of Massachusetts; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends and neighbors.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday September 20, 3005 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Litchfield. Burial followed in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
