Joseph A. Charron

March 22, 1929 — June 14, 2018

Joseph A. Charron, 89, loving father, father-in-love, grandfather and great-grandfather, formerly of Manchester, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in Sarasota, FL on June 14, 2018 with family by his side.

Joe was born in Nashua on March 22, 1929 to Joseph and Bertha (Dionne) Charron. He lived in Manchester and North Hampton for most of his life and he and his wife, Madeline, had wintered in Sarasota, FL for many years before taking up residence there after retirement.

During World War II he proudly served in the U.S. Navy.

Joe was the owner and operator of JD Charron, Inc. in Hooksett for over 40 years, an organization servicing the lighting industry in northern New England.

He was involved with the Boy Scouts of America for 55 years, including many years as Scout Master at St. Pius X Church in Manchester. Joe was an avid golfer and he and Madeline could be found on the golf course as soon as the weather allowed. In their younger years, they were the ultimate entertainers, hosting friends and family and dancing up a storm. They enjoyed traveling and had many fond memories of places visited, including China, Spain and their favorite, the Greek Isles. Joe and Madeline loved the ocean and for many years made their home oceanside in North Hampton. There were countless times that Joe could be found among the rocks with his two grands, Jon and Beth, looking for snails and water creatures, as well as long walks on the beach.

Joe has left a lasting mark in the lighting industry and has blessed his family with the priceless gift of a rich legacy of character, faith, humility, integrity and honesty. He is now dancing with his sweetheart.

Joe was predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Madeline (Gilbert) Charron in 2013; a brother, Jean Paul Charron and a grandson, Jonathan Charron.

The family includes two sons, Leonard Charron and wife, Mary, of Manchester and David Charron and wife, Pamela, of Sarasota, FL, a granddaughter, Bethany Charron; five great grandchildren, Tristin Charron, Madeline Thomas, Landon Thomas, Oliver Thompson and Jack Thompson; and nieces and nephews.
