Joseph A. Dalton, 81, of Manchester, died July 15, 2012 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH following a long illness.
He was born in Manchester, NH on August 12, 1931 and was the son of Joseph and Emma (McMillan) Dalton and had resided in Manchester.
He worked many years for the city of Manchester as a policeman and later in the cities traffic division. He was a member of St Raphael parish.
Family members include his beloved wife of 49 years, Rosemary (Podell) Dalton of Manchester; their daughter, Christine Benjamin and her husband Claude of Merrimack, NH; a grandson, Christopher Pratte of Manchester; two brothers, Donald Dalton of Manchester, NH and James Dalton of Florida. In addition he has two children from a previous marriage, his daughter Donna Dalton, a son, Joseph Dalton and four grandchildren, Dawn Gonzalas, Lyndsay Dalton, Micah Houston and Jesse Dalton; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by five sisters.
A Service of Remembrance took place on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. Burial will be at a later date in St Joseph Cemetery.
