Joseph M. Daneault

Joseph M. Daneault, 81, of Manchester died May 23, 2005 at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Manchester after a brief illness.

Born in Manchester on December 6, 1923, he was the son of Treffle and Alice (Jutras) Daneault. He lived most of his life in Manchester.

During World War II he served in the US Army and participated in the Northern France Campaign, the Rhineland Campaign and the Ardennes Campaign. He was awarded many medals and citations including the Purple Heart.

Mr. Daneault was a Certified Operating Room Technician at the VA Hospital in Manchester for 30 years. He had also worked at Cushing General Hospital in Framingham, MA for a brief time.

He was a Eucharistic Minister and had visited nursing homes to distribute Holy Communion. He had also volunteered at St. Marie Church and the former St. Edmond Church, both in Manchester.

Mr. Daneault was a member of the Catholic War Veterans Post 1624, the Pius X Institute and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.

The family includes his wife of 57 years, Pauline E. (Yergeau) Daneault of Manchester; seven children, Susan L. Daneault, Denise D. Melancon, JoAnn M. Forsberg and MaryAnn C. Daneault all of Manchester, Daniel R. Daneault of Niantic, CT and Michele Boris and John A. Daneault both of Bedford; 12 grandchildren; three sisters, Irene Beaudin of Manchester, Annette Larochelle of New Boston and Therese Roy of Cedar Falls, IA; one aunt, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday May 27, 2005 in Parish of the Transfiguration, corner of Kelley and Youville streets, Manchester. The Rev. Maurice Larochelle, a nephew, was the celebrant. After cremation, burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
