Joseph R. Groulx, 92, of Manchester, passed away September 21, 2025 at home with his family after a period of declining health.

He was born in Manchester on June 4, 1933 to Otis and Rosalba (Therrien) Groulx. Joseph was a lifelong resident of Manchester, active in his communities and working at Manchester businesses: Bee Bee Shoe Company, Genest Bakery and Intervale Country Club.

He served in the US Army during the Korean War, enlisting when he was just 17 years old, from 1950 to 1953 where he received many military accolades including a Purple Heart.

Joseph was a natural athlete. He enjoyed baseball, swimming, bowling, quiet mornings golfing and spending time with his son, Michael, on the course.

He was predeceased by his parents and two siblings, Rita Lacroix and Ronald Groulx.

Joseph is survived by his wife of 70 years, Violette L. (Caron) Groulx of Manchester; two children, Michael Groulx of Manchester and Melissa Shelley and her husband, Shane, of Auburn; two grandchildren, Alexis Groulx of Manchester and Branden Shelley of Auburn; and nieces and nephews. Joseph was deeply loved by his family and will be missed by many.

SERVICES: A cemetery committal service will take place at a future date at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
