Joseph C. Houle

May 8, 1934 — March 18, 2023

Manchester, NH

Joseph Conrad Houle, 88, of Manchester was called home to our Lord and savior in the morning hours of March 18, 2023 after a brief illness.

He was born in Auburn on May 8, 1934 to Omer and Clara (Paul) Houle.  While serving in the US Army and stationed in Germany, he met the love of his life Irma, and was married for over 67 years.

Joseph worked for the City of Manchester for 43 years. He was a member of the American Legion Sweeney Post in Manchester and enjoyed many interests and hobbies.  He was a man of great faith and belonged to St. Pius X Parish on Candia Road in Manchester.

Joseph was the first to offer assistance and the last to ask for any help. His laughter was contagious and his warm smile offered great comfort.  He was generous, selfless and radiant.  He will be sorely missed by anyone who was blessed to know him.

He is survived by his wife, Irma Maria (Ostheimer) Houle of Manchester; three sons, Robert Houle of Boston, John Houle of Manchester and Kevin Houle and his wife, Laurie, of Hudson; two grandchildren, Ryan Houle and Jillian Houle; two siblings, Anita Perkins and Paul Houle; and nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours.  A celebration of life will be planned for family and friends at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2 Wall St., Manchester, NH 03101, or at www.heart.org

Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester is assisting the family with arrangements.
