He was born in Manchester on August 17, 1924, the son of Achille and Marie Emma (Houle) Lacourse. He was educated in the local schools and served in the US Army during WWII.
Prior to retirement, Joe had been employed as a dispatcher and dock supervisor for Quinn Trucking for many years.
He was a member of the American Legion Henry J. Sweeney Post #2, the Catholic War Veterans and the Intervale Country Club.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
His wife of 63 years, Irene (Vigneault) Lacourse died in 2009. He was also predeceased by two brothers Leo and Dollard Lacourse.
Family members include his sons George E. Lacourse of Raleigh, NC, Dennis Lacourse of Cape Coral, FL, Richard M. Lacourse of Auburn, Robert Lacourse of Mesa, AZ, Joseph M. Lacourse, Don Lacourse, and Brian Lacourse, all of Manchester; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Gertrude Lacourse of Manchester; nephews and nieces.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in Sacred Heart Church, So. Main St. Burial with military honors followed in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
