J. Victor Myers, 92, of Port Richey, FL, formerly of Exeter, NH, died peacefully in his sleep May 6, 2016 after a period of failing health.
Born in Lawrence, MA on June 8, 1923, he was the son of Peter and Julia (Richards) Myers. Raised in Lawrence, he was a graduate of Lawrence High School, served in the US Navy, and later in life attended and graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa in 1956.
After settling in Exeter, he and his wife established Myers Chiropractic Clinic until their retirement in 1988. The practice continues under the leadership of their son, Dr. Jeff Myers and granddaughter Dr. Julia Myers.
Retirement was enjoyed between their homes in Exeter and Port Richey until recent years remaining in Florida. Besides his scotch on the rocks each afternoon, his major enjoyment came from the game of golf, both playing and watching endless hours each weekend. He had a longtime membership at Exeter Country Club, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a communicant of St. Michael's Parish.
Those of us who were fortunate to have known Vic will remember his incredible kindness, acceptance, and his calm and loving spirit. There are some people who seek out attention and acknowledgement for the things they do, and then there was our Dad who was a great example of love and loyalty and was a true gentle man.
Family members include his loving wife of 70 years, Marie "Dot" (Viel) Myers of Port Richey, FL, his daughter, Donna Nicoll and husband Robert of Manchester; his two sons, Dr. Jeffrey Myers and wife Cynthia of Epping, and Leonard Myers of Manchester; his grandchildren, Christine Griffin, William Deschenes, Jay Myers, Dr. Julia Myers, Dr. Jessica Myers, James Myers and Joseph Myers; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Eileen Currier of Lawrence, MA and Shirley Biron of Andover, MA as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Doris Faucher and Esther Cote.
There are no plans for services at this time.
