23,2012 with her son, daughter-in-law and best friend and caregiver at her side.
Judy was the daughter of Festus and Mary (Glennon) Riley and a lifelong resident
of Manchester. She attended Manchester Catholic schools and graduated from St. Joseph
High School for Girls. She was retired from the New England Telephone & Telegraph
Co. and spent much of her retirement getting great joy caring for her three grandchildren.
Judy had a strong faith and was a long-time parishioner at St. Joseph Cathedral
and in her later years at St. Catherine and St. Elizabeth Seton parishes. She had a great
generosity and kindness of spirit, and her family was the focus of her life.
Judy loved traveling, including trips to Italy (where she saw Pope Benedict and
developed an appreciation for gelato), Ireland, Savannah, Florida, Los Angeles, San
Diego and Las Vegas. A number of her trips were made to watch her beloved Notre
Dame Fighting Irish football team. She was most proud that her son and daughter
graduated from the University of Notre Dame.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Colleen Sweeney Foster, March 5,2010,
and her husband of fifty years, Richard T., November 7, 2010.
Members of her family include her son Kevin P. and his wife Deirdre E. of
Brookline, Massachusetts, grandchildren Megan, Patrick and Conor Foster of Andover,
Massachusetts, and her close cousin Dolores Glennon of Goffstown.
A funeral Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, January 27, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Meetinghouse Rd. Bedford.
Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Horizons for New
Hampshire, Inc. homeless shelter and soup kitchen, 199 Manchester St., Manchester,
NewHampshire 03103.
