Julia Sirak, 94, died peacefully on April 19, 2014 at St. Teresa's Healthcare center after a lengthy illness.
Born in Chester, PA in 1919, her family moved to Lorain, OH in 1924. She was predeceased by her mother and father Anna and Nicholas Nakoneczny, her two sisters Elsie Varkony and Emilia Naymick, and her husband Bill Sirak whom she was married to for fifty-one years.
She was a long-time resident of South Lorain, OH and attended Lorain High School. She had been very active in Saint Mary's Ukrainian Church, serving as president of the church choir, and Sisterhood. She was also a soloist and reader for her church. Julia was a volunteer at Saint Joseph Hospital for nineteen years. She enjoyed singing and music during her life.
She moved to Manchester, NH in 2008 to be closer to her son, Bill. Most recently, she resided at St. Teresa's Healthcare Center whose warm and caring staff and residents became a part of her extended family.
Julia is survived by her son, Bill Sirak and his wife Linda of Manchester, NH; a niece Sandra Andos of Valley City, OH; her grandson David Sirak and his wife Laurie of Altamonte Springs, FL; granddaughter Nicole Sirak Irwin and her husband John of Boise, ID; many nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A committal service will be held at a later date in Lorain, OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all remembrances be forward to St. Teresa's Healthcare Center, 510 Bridge St, Manchester, NH 03103.
