Julianne S. Cooper-Reeder
February 3, 1947 — February 14, 2016
Julianne S. Cooper-Reeder Ph.D, 69, of Hooksett, NH passed February 14th, 2016 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous two year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Wilmington, DE on February 3, 1947, she was the daughter of Thomas and Rosamond (Taylor) Siudowski. She was the founder of one of New England's most creative and successful advertising and marketing agencies in the mid 1970s into the late 1980s. She later pursued a Master's Degree in Medieval History, followed by a duel Ph.D in Early Modern American and European History at the University of New Hampshire and finally a Master's in Divinity at Harvard.
After decades of success in teaching at the University level, she co-founded with her husband, Liberty Harbor Academy acting as both President and a full-time faculty member. She was a regular guest on many local talk radio shows speaking on a variety of subjects from education, politics, history and religion
She was an avid researcher and accomplished writer having published numerous academic articles. Her autobiography, Who Promised You a Rose Garden was written while fighting the disease and published in August of 2015. She loved reading, intellectual/philosophical/historical discussions and political thought. Julianne enjoyed traveling to and vacationing near sites of historical significance and museums. Included in those travels were students on field trips to Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C., and the many important sites of Virginia. She was a patriot, a devoted Christian who practiced her faith with grace and humility. Full of love and spirit, Julianne simply exuded an inner beauty equal to her outer loveliness and gave of herself inspiring family, friends, colleagues and students in ways that will ripple for generations.
Above all else, she will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished time spent with family.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Mark Reeder of Hooksett; her beautiful daughter Alexandra Lin, a dedicated son-in-law, George Lin, M.D. of Florida; and three remarkable and loving grandchildren: granddaughter MacKenzie and two grandsons, Carter and Gardiner. They were and will always be her pride and joy.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 in St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Avenue, Manchester, NH 03102. Burial will be in her family cemetery lot in Virginia at a later date.
Donations may be made in her memory to either St. Marie Parish, 133 Wayne St, Manchester, NH 03102, to Catholic Charities of NH, 325 Franklin St, Manchester, NH 03101, or to the Birch Hill Terrace Benevolent Fund, 200 Alliance Way, Manchester, NH 03102.
