Sr. Juliette Desruisseaux (Sr. St. Marie Gabriel), 80, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester died April 14, 2003 in her residence.
Born in Manchester on December 16, 1922, she was the daughter of Joseph and Lina (Poulin) Desruisseaux. She entered the congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in 1941, made her first profession in 1944 and her final profession in 1949.
She earned a bachelor's degree from Catholic Teachers College in Providence, RI, and a master's degree from Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. She also studied at the University of Rhode Island.
Sr. Desruisseaux was an elementary school teacher for 20 years in Rhode Island at West Warwick, Woonsocket and Albion; and in New Hampshire at Berlin, Manchester and Keene. She then was a librarian for 27 years at the Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson and West Side Catholic Regional School in Manchester.
The family includes two sisters, Annette Marineau of Manchester and Irene Archambault of Nashua; a brother, Louis Desruisseaux of Manchester; several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday April 16, 2003 in the Resurrection Chapel. Burial was in Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson.
