Kathleen Jaworski

Kathleen O'Connor Jaworski, 63, of Manchester, New Hampshire, passed away on July 26, 2026, after a brave battle with early-onset Alzheimer's disease. She leaves behind a legacy of love, adventure, unwavering kindness, and, according to those who knew her best, the world's best chocolate chip cookies.

Kathleen shared a wonderful life with her husband of 28 years, Peter Jaworski. They first met at Sandy's Variety, where Kathleen was a part owner, and together they embraced every opportunity for adventure. Whether traveling the world or exploring the beauty of New England, they made the most of every journey. At home, Kathleen found joy in tending their gardens, caring for their chickens, relaxing in her beloved "She Shed," and, true to her fun sense of style, never passing up a great pair of designer jeans.

Above all else, Kathleen cherished her family and the many lifelong friendships she formed over the years. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcomed, cared for, and valued. Her laughter could fill a room, and her warmth could fill your heart. She loved deeply and embraced her friends' children as if they were her own. Her kindness, nurturing spirit, quick wit, and infectious smile drew people to her and will forever remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

An accomplished endurance athlete, Kathleen inspired countless others through her passion for running, swimming, cycling, and hiking. While attending Manchester Memorial High School, she set the school record in the 440, a record that stood for many years. Throughout her life, Kathleen completed five of the six World Marathon Majors, proudly running the Boston, New York City, Chicago, Berlin, Prague and London Marathons. Boston held a special place in her heart, and she completed it seven times. In 2013, she achieved a personal best of 3 hours, 50 minutes. That same day, she crossed the finish line just moments before the tragic Boston Marathon bombings, an experience that deepened her appreciation for life and strengthened her bond with the resilient running community she loved.

Kathleen was equally accomplished in triathlons. She completed the demanding MascomaMan Triathlon twice, was an age-group champion at the Nashua Triathlon, competed in the Timberman Triathlon, and earned first place in her age group (50–54) at the Concord Triathlon.

Her commitment to serving others extended far beyond athletics. Kathleen served on the Board of Directors for The Webster House and the Greater Manchester Running Club, generously giving her time and leadership to organizations that strengthened the community. She also participated in Swim With A Mission, helping to raise funds for veterans and their families. Passionate about helping others achieve their goals, Kathleen taught TRX fitness classes and coached swim training for aspiring triathletes, encouraging others with the same generosity and enthusiasm that defined every aspect of her life.

Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, John and Geraldine O'Connor, and her beloved aunt, Grail O'Connor. She is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Peter Jaworski; her brothers, Michael O'Connor and his wife, Sandra, and Joe O'Connor and his wife, Karen; her sister, Maureen, and her husband, Lee; and her cherished nieces and nephews, Meghan, Kathryn, Jillian, Elizabeth, Emily, and Nathan

The last several years of Kathleen's illness were made so much easier for her by Peter's unwavering love, devotion, and compassionate care. He remained faithfully by her side through every step of her journey, caring for her with extraordinary kindness, patience, and grace. His steadfast support was a source of comfort and strength, and throughout it all, he was truly her rock.

Kathleen's greatest accomplishments were never measured by finish lines or medals, but by the countless lives she touched through her generosity, compassion, encouragement, and unwavering friendship. She made every person she encountered feel seen, supported, and loved. Her family, friends, and community are better because she was part of their lives. Though she will be deeply missed, her love, laughter, and extraordinary example will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

SERVICES: Calling Hours will be held on Monday August 3rd, from 4-7pm at Lambert Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on August 4th at The Holy Trinity Cathedral on 166 Pearl St., NH Manchester, Burial to follow at Holy Trinity National Cemetery in Goffstown.
