Kenneth Ray Faulkner Jr., 75, of Hooksett, NH, aware of his eminent fate, bravely met death on June 16, 2007 in the privacy of his home surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Medford, MA, on September 3, 1931, he was the son of Kenneth Ray and Rose Ann (Astill)Faulkner. Upon his graduation from Arlington High School in 1949, he joined the US Navy in 1950 and honorably served aboard the mine sweeper U.S.S. Instill 252 during the Korean War. He received a degree in mechanical engineering from Northeastern University in 1966. Previous employers include Raytheon and Xerox before he and his wife together owned and operated a printing business for twenty three years until retirement in 1999.

It was the serene beauty of southern Maine that captured his heart and enhanced his soul. He spent all his summers since the age of six at his family cottage on Bickford Pond in Porter, Maine.

In his life: He and his wife Joan Faulkner purchased the cottage in 1968 to ensure their family heritage. At the age of 17 years, he hand crafted a thirteen foot wooden boat in the basement of his childhood home. Kenneth proudly displayed his clever Yankee heritage while creating many wonderful family memories for two generations in and around his handmade boat at his family camp on Bickford Pond. He was a member of the Congregational Church of Hooksett and will be laid to rest with his baby daughter Sandra Lee in Framingham, MA.

He married Joan Adelaide Wyman in 1955 who he first met at the age of 4 when peaking through the white picket fence in his back yard. They had four children. It is with great appreciation for his solace nature he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joan Faulkner of Hooksett; his sons, Robert and his wife Mary-Anne Faulkner of MA, and Stephen Faulkner of Allenstown; his daughter, Linda Baker and her husband Mark of VT; eight grandchildren, Timothy Faulkner, Jeffrey Faulkner, Jillian Faulkner, Brandon Faulkner, Meghan Faulkner, Scott Baker, Brianna Baker, and Luke Baker.

The funeral service was held Friday June 22, 2007 in the Congregational Church of Hooksett, 5 Veterans Drive, Hooksett, NH. He was laid to rest with his baby daughter at Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham, MA.
