Hooksett

Hooksett NH - Kenneth Brian Glander “Ken” of Hooksett, NH passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024, with his family by his side after a battle with a rare form of cancer.

Ken was born in Paterson, NJ to Robert D. and Joan K. Glander, and lived in Oakland, NJ until 1975 when his family relocated to Atkinson, NH. Ken was a graduate of Timberlane Regional High School in Plaistow, NH, where his friends coined his nickname of “Oscar,” affectionately used by friends and family throughout his lifetime. He earned a degree in Marketing at Plymouth State College where peers and faculty recognized him for his academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities, and future potential.

After college, Ken had a successful career as a sales executive, most recently at Consolidated Communications Inc. in Manchester NH. Working through his illness, he was known by his colleagues for his dedication, kindness, and unwavering spirit, where he faced every challenge with determination and optimism, and inspired everyone to be their best.

Ken loved life, his family, his friends, and a good time. He was fiercely loyal, and his home was a gathering place where he was most content tending to the grill, sharing a drink, welcoming anyone who walked through the door. He adored his wife, his daughter, his stepsons, and his grandchildren.

Second to his love of his family and friends was Ken’s passion for skiing and Sugarbush Mountain, where he spent his winter weekends over the past 30 years. Time at the vacation home he shared with his sister at Club Sugarbush created happy memories for all who visited. His proudest moments were watching his daughter Kelly race down the mountain when she attended Green Mountain Valley School. He had many friends in the Sugarbush community and served on the board for his condominium association. As a ski instructor for the past 10 years, he shared his love of skiing with a following of customers that hired him whenever they could do so.

In addition to his parents, Ken will be deeply missed by his wife Shelby (Phillips), daughter Kelly and fiancé Jack Schonher, stepsons Matthew Goupil and wife Shana, Christoper Goupil, and grandchildren Jack, Benjamin, Lennon, and Silas. He is also survived by his brother Michael Glander and wife Tami (Jaeger), sisters Peggy (Glander) Ward and husband Patrick, Patricia (Glander) Whorf and husband Robert, and Jennice (Glander) Mulwee and husband Scott, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be July 12 from 11am-1pm, with a memorial service beginning promptly at 1pm at the Lambert Funeral Home 799 Elm St. Manchester, NH 03104. A Celebration of Life will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ken’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
