Kevin D. Delahanty

January 12, 1956 — March 4, 2006

Kevin Duclos Delahanty, 50, died Saturday, March 4th, 2006 while administering first aid to an injured skier at Pat's Peak Ski Area. He was in the company of his brother-in-law and great friend Keith Lafrance, also a patroller at Pat's Peak.

Kevin had been a volunteer ski patroller at Pat's for 28 years, and he received recognition as the Eastern Division's outstanding alpine ski patroller by the National Ski Patrol System during the 1998-1999 season.

He was born January 12th, 1956 in Manchester, the son of William and Arlene (Duclos) Delahanty. He was married to Lisa (Lafrance) Delahanty for 26 years.

He is survived by his two loving daughters, Moira May Delahanty and Kayla Duclos Delahanty, as well as his wife, Lisa, and mother, Arlene. Other family members include his best friend and brother, Brian Delahanty, of Francestown and his sister, Kellee (Delahanty) Manning, of Hooksett, as well as six nieces and nephews, two brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law, all of whom admired him.

He attended school locally, graduating from Trinity High School in 1974 and St. Anselm College in 1978. He operated Duclos Auto Body in Manchester, the family business, before becoming the Service Manager for Energy North Propane, in Concord. He worked hard, always making his family his top priority, until the time of his death.

Kevin was an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, and a fire fighter for the Hooksett Volunteer Fire Department, ultimately reaching the rank of on-call Lieutenant. He also volunteered for over 20 years as a leader for a team of alpine ski racers in the Special Olympics.

Kevin loved nothing more than watching his daughters, Moira and Kayla, compete in lacrosse, soccer and alpine ski racing. When they were young girls, he was a coach for many of their teams, and as they advanced in these sports, he was simply their greatest fan. He was a wonderful husband to Lisa, and an excellent father. He will be missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday March 8, 2006 in St. Francis Parish, 9 St. Francis Way, Litchfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kevin's name to:
