Krista M. McQueeney of Manchester, NH, passed away on April 22, 2025, at the age of 70.
Born October 2, 1954, Krista was the third child of John F. and M. Ruth McQueeney. A lifelong Manchester resident, she began volunteering at St. Teresa’s Manor as a teenager and went on to spend her entire nursing career there, after graduating from the Thompson School of Nursing in Vermont—a rare kind of consistency that suited her just fine.
Krista is survived by her siblings: Norine McQueeney, Karen (McQueeney) Bourque, and John McQueeney and his wife Sylvie McQueeney. She was a proud aunt to Richard Bourque, Sean Bourque, Karyn Bourque, Marc May, Jason McQueeney, Shannon McQueeney, John McQueeney, and Meaghan McQueeney; and a grand-aunt to Rich, Rykar, Aidan, Dylan, Jose, Kayleigh, Zayvion, Jason, John, and Callan.
Krista loved her family, her friends, and the pets she shared her home with over the years. She maintained a lifelong friendship with Cindy Beaudion, her best friend since elementary school. She didn’t need a spotlight to make an impact—she was steady, dependable, and had a sharp sense of humor that showed up when you least expected it.
She'll be remembered not for grand gestures, but for always being there, especially when it counted.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public service.
