Kymberely Ann Messenger

September 14, 1960 — July 4, 2025

Manchester

Kymberley Ann Messenger, 64, my soulmate, best friend, wife of 33 years, and a phenomenal mother to our children, passed away peacefully on the evening of July 4th, surrounded by those who loved her, after a long battle with chronic pneumonia.

Kym was born on September 14, 1960, at a U.S. military hospital in Zaragoza, Spain, to Arthur and Irene Bergeron (née Rogers). She was the fourth of six siblings, and in 1962 her family returned to New Hampshire.

From an early age, Kym was curious, creative, and compassionate. As a young girl, she took on the responsibility of preparing the family’s evening meals to help her mother, who often worked until 7 p.m. She became a skilled seamstress, even sewing her own dress when she competed in Miss New Hampshire Teen in 1975—a year that, unbeknownst to her at the time, would mark the beginning of a lifelong love story.

Kym graduated from Central High School in 1978 and earned her nursing degree in 1983. While in nursing school, she married Jeffrey Robinson, and together they had one son, Ryan, though they later divorced.

Kym dedicated over a decade to pediatric oncology at Elliot Hospital before shifting her career toward education. She found deep fulfillment working with the Special Education and Deaf and Hard of Hearing programs in the Manchester School District for more than twelve years, retiring in 2020.

In 1987, through a remarkable twist of fate, Kym reunited with her one true love, Neil Messenger, after a fifteen-year separation. They married in 1992 and remained inseparable for the rest of her life—nearly 40 years of love, laughter, and partnership.

Kym is survived by her devoted husband, Neil Messenger; her son, Ryan Robinson and his wife Natalie, and their daughter, Myla; and her sons Sean and Samuel Messenger. She is also survived by her mother, Irene Bergeron (née Rogers); brother Kevin Bergeron; sister Karen Bergeron-Rosa, her son Adam and his wife Andrea and their children; daughter Leah Gedney and her husband Benjamin and their daughter; sister Kristen Noonan, her husband Tom and their children; and brother-in-law Tim Fissette, his son Zachary, his wife Lorelei, and their children.

She was predeceased by her father, Arthur Bergeron; her brother, Glen Bergeron; and her beloved sister and best friend, Kathleen Fissette (née Bergeron).

A small, private graveside service for family will be held on July 11th.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Kym’s memory to the American Lung Association.
