Dr. L. Adrien LaFlamme, 91, died June 25, 2009.

He was born in Manchester on June 23, 1918 to Leo A. and Maude (Dallaire) LaFlamme.

He is survived by his wife, Opal Oates LaFlamme and their three children Paul LaFlamme of Henniker, Adrienne LaFlamme of Florida, and Susan LaFlamme Maltais of Manchester.

Dr. LaFlamme was a graduate of Manchester Central High School, the University of New Hampshire and the Georgetown University School of Medicine. He practiced his specialty, cardiology, for more than thirty years being the first Cardiologist in Manchester. He had a private practice in Manchester and most notably he was Chief of Cardiology at Notre Dame Hospital.

Dr. LaFlamme served in the United States Army Medical Corps as a Captain in the European Theatre during World War II. At the end of World War II he served as a battalion surgeon in the occupation of Berlin, Germany.

He is also survived by three grandchildren, Kim LaFlamme Sherman, Edmond Joseph Adrien Maltais and Christina LaFlamme Cellamare, and one great grandchild, Jacob Sherman.

Following cremation he was interred in the family plot at St. Augustin Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory assisted with arrangements.
