He was born in Manchester, March 13, 1921 and was the son of Henri and Florida (Hebert) Maurier. He was a lifelong resident of this city.
He served in the US Army during World War II and worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Manchester until his retirement in 1976.
Mr. Maurier was very involved in parish ministry at St. Augustin Church serving as its first parish council president and as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. He was chairman of Cub Scout Pack 117 in its early years and was a devoted member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He participated in the Christian Family Movement and the Octomates Social Group. Mr. Maurier was a member of the League of a Thousand Men of the Precious Blood Monastery.
His hobbies included woodworking and repairing televisions and radios out of his home workshop. He cherished keeping his family ties strong through camping.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Antoinette (Hebert) Maurier of Manchester; a daughter, Sr. Pauline Maurier, CSC of Manchester; four sons, Richard Maurier and his wife, Louise, Robert Maurier, Maurice Maurier, all of Manchester, and Roger Maurier and his wife, Irene, of Hooksett; two grandchildren, Adele and Stephen Maurier; a brother, Raymond Maurier of Manchester; two sisters, Dora Page and Theresa Gingras, both of Manchester; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Armand Maurier, and a sister, Lucille Lawrence.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday November 7, 2007 at St. Ann-St. Augustin Church. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery.
