Laurette L. Carbonneau

Laurette L. Carbonneau, 94, of Manchester, died May 30, 2009 with her daughter, Elaine and son, Ronald at her side at Hillsborough County Nursing Home, Goffstown after a period of declining health.

She was born in Manchester, July 5, 1914 and was the daughter of Joseph and Lea (Cabana) Gagnon. She was raised and educated in Manchester, attending local schools and was a lifelong resident. She married Roger Carbonneau June 25, 1938 and started to raise a family. She lived at 239 Cartier St. until 2005 and had been a resident of Hillsborough Country Nursing Home since that time.

Mrs. Carbonneau worked at J.F. McElwain Shoe Co for 25 years until her retirement in 1976.

She was a communicant of Ste. Marie Church and had a great devotion to the Virgin Mother of God, Mary Immaculate and St. Joseph.

She enjoyed needlepoint, her cat Dusty, listening to her daily Mass when she became unable to walk and very dedicated to her Catholic faith. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, but most of all, missed the time spent with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, both near and those separated by thousands of miles.

She was married to Roger E. Carbonneau who died in 1996.

IN HER LIFE: She leaves her daughter and primary caregiver, Elaine Nelson of The Villages, FL, two sons, Ronald A. Carbonneau of Manchester and Roger G. Carbonneau of Florida; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a sister, Theresa Gill of Concord; and her personal homemaker, Ms Gaetane Houde of Manchester; several nieces & nephews. She also was predeceased by her sisters, Jeannette Cullerot, Beatrice Cullerot, Bertha Beaulieu, and Gertrude Faucher.

Mrs. Carbonneau spent the last four years at Hillsborough County Nursing Home where she received great love, devotion, and care by all the staff. Her family is extremely grateful to all of the people at HCNH for their compassionate care shown to Laurette and her family during her stay. She truly considered HCNH her home.

The funeral was held Tuesday, June 2, 2009 in the funeral home. Committal prayers followed in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester where encryptment took place.
