Laurette S. (Lemay) Martel, 88, of Manchester died January 6, 2002 at her home after a brief illness.
Born in Manchester on February 27, 1913, she was the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Desfosses) Lemay. She was one of 11 children, and was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
Mrs. Martel worked as a waitress at Manchester Country Club for many years. She was a member of the New Hampshire Woman's Golf Association and Intervale Country Club.
She was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony Church. She enjoyed being with people and was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She was married to Philibert Martel who died in 1972.
The family includes three sons, Paul C. Martel, Robert P. Martel and David P. Martel all of Manchester; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were January 8 and January 9, 2002 in Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North St., Manchester. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated January 10, 2002 in St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
