She was born in Somersworth on June 9, 1917 to Albert and Anna (Hebert) Michaud.
She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1940 and made her final profession in 1947. She served the Congregation for 70 years.
Sr. Laurette taught at St. Therese School in Manchester. She also served as secretary at the Congregational Office of Studies in St. Laurent, Quebec from 1946 to 1968, and for the president of Notre Dame College in Manchester from 1968 to 1977.
Before retiring, she cared for her aging and partially blind mother in Somersworth.
She will be remembered for her deep prayer life.
The family includes four nephews, Bernard Michaud of Somersworth, William Michaud of North Carolina, David Michaud of Florida and Denis Michaud of Maine; and one niece, Diane Michaud of Somersworth.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, December 10, 2010 in the chapel at St. George Manor. Burial was at St. Augustin Cemetery, Manchester.
