Laurette L. Sarette

Laurette L. Sarette, 94, of Manchester, died August 1, 2008 at a local heath care center.

She was born in Manchester on November 11, 1913, the only child of Adrien and Yvonne (Baron) Proulx.

Laurette had lived in Goffstown for a number of years and raised her family on a farm in New Boston prior to moving back to Manchester.

She had worked at Genstil Shoe Company and McGraw Edison at Grenier Field for many years. She also owned and operated Mast Road Laundromat for nine years prior to retirement.

A very active woman, Laurette was a communicant of the former St. Edmond Church and had volunteered for the parish as well as the Catholic Medical Center and Senior Center.

She enjoyed traveling with her children cross country as well as to Hawaii, Canada, California, and Florida. She loved sewing children's clothing, cross stitching, and knitting. Laurette also enjoyed painting with oils and watercolors, playing the piano and leading her beloved family in song. She will always be remembered for her loving generous spirit and boundless energy.

The family would like to recognize and thank the staff of Villa Crest Nursing Home in Manchester, where Laurette's final days were spent surrounded by compassionate and caring people.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence V. Sarette in 1976, her son, John Sarette in 2004 and daughter, Irene Laflamme in 2006. She was also predeceased by two grandchildren, Susan Croasdale and Brian Laflamme and one great-grandson, Luke Sarette.

Members of her family include seven children, Richard Sarette of Diamond Springs, CA, Robert Sarette of Goffstown, Lucille Carrier of Manchester, James Sarette of Manchester, Claire Charest of West Palm Beach, FL, Dennis Sarette of Goffstown, and Nancy Godbout of Goffstown; 40 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The memorial Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 in the Parish of the Transfiguration, Kelley St., Manchester. Urn burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
