He was born in Manchester on October 8, 1912, and was the son of Louis and Elizabeth (McDonald) Foss. He was educated locally and was a member of Blessed Sacrament parish.
In the 1930's Lawrence enjoyed boxing in the light feather weight division, boxing throughout New England. From 1943 to 1945, Mr. Foss served with the United States Merchant Marines. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, and being with his family.
In His Life: Family members include his children; Cheryl Kula, of Manchester; Douglas Foss, of NH; 2 grand daughters, Laurie and Jan Foss, of Manchester; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife of 72 years Rita (Pepin) Foss, in July of 2006.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday March 31, 2007 in Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Elm St. Manchester.
Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery, Calef Rd. Manchester.
