Lena (Pinard) Zarakotas, 93, of Manchester, NH died January 10, 2017 after a period of declining health. Born in Manchester on June 4, 1923, she was the daughter of Hercules and Victoria Rose (Champagne) Pinard. Lena was born to a large family of 13 children (including herself) and attended schools in Manchester.
Lena enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her brothers and sisters, as well as, her many trips to Maine.
Prior to retirement, she had been employed by various shoe factories, such as Gutman-Kesslen.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 39 years, Gregory W. Zarakotas, in 2009. A caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lena is also survived by her daughter Rena (Weronik) Pellenz of Portland, ME; her grandchildren, Nicholas Pellenz of Portland and Jason Pellenz, along with his wife, Nicole and their children, Jacob and Brynn, of Scarborough, ME. She will also be missed by her nieces Pamela Harvey and Pauline Woodard with whom she had close relationships.
A service was held on Monday, January 16, 2017 in the chapel at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, Manchester.
Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery, Calef Road, Manchester.
