Leo F. Adams

Manchester, NH

 Leo F. Adams, one of the few left from the greatest generation, passed away on July 1, 2024 at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester.

 He was born in Keene on August 10, 1927 and was the son of Samuel S. Adams, an Albanian immigrant, and Mary (Healey) Adams, a daughter of Irish immigrants.

 During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy. He later worked at Waumbec Mills in Manchester and Sanders Associates in Nashua. He was self-taught for all the skills needed in these jobs. Upon retirement, he was given a gold watch from Waumbec Mills.

 Leo enjoyed playing pool and was very knowledgeable of old-time baseball facts. In his younger years he also enjoyed meeting up with the Cardin and Adams family’s on Sunday’s at Newfound Lake.

 He will be remembered as a very considerate man, who was proud of his service in the Navy. 

 He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Theresa (Cardin) Adams and his son, James F. Adams.

 Leo is survived by a daughter, CarolAnn (Adams) Powers of Londonderry; his former son-in-law, Dale L. Powers of Manchester; six grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

 SERVICES: A cemetery committal service is Friday (7/5) at 9 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.

 Memorial donations may be made to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 718 Smyth Rd., Manchester, NH 03104.

 Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester is assisting the family with arrangements.
