Leo A. Cloutier

Leo A. Cloutier 90, former longtime resident of Canaan, VT, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Catholic Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Saint-Hermenegilde, Quebec on January 30, 1933, he resided in Canaan, Vermont most of his life. He was the son to the late Omer and Marie-Louise (Pivin) Cloutier. Leo was a talented sample maker, and proudly worked for Ethan Allen Furniture Company for 48 years before retiring.

Leo enjoyed working on his Christmas Tree farm and building bird houses. Above all, spending time with his family was most important.

Leo is sadly missed by his wife of 67 years, Marielle (Vachon) Cloutier of Canaan, VT; his two daughters, Nancy Couture and her husband, Alan of Dover and Doris O’Neil of Manchester; three grandchildren, Adam O’Neil, Laura O’Neil and Jacob Couture. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brothers, Leon and Lucien Cloutier.

SERVICES: There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday (8/22) at 10:00am at St. Catherine of Siena Church 267 Hemlock St., Manchester, NH. Burial will follow in the family lot at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
