Leopold J. Grenon, 102, of Bedford, NH died peacefully in his sleep on March 8, 2025 after a period of declining health.

Born in Albertville, P.Q., Canada on May 8, 1922, he was the son of Joseph and Elise (MacMullen). He and his family immigrated to the US in 1936 where they established a home in Manchester, NH. Leo lived most of his adult life in Bedford, NH.

He and his wife Dolly founded Leo J. Grenon Co., Inc, in Bedford, NH in 1947.

He proudly served his country as a Navy signalman (1942-1946) during WWII.

Leo was an active member of the VFW for 75 years. he was also involved with the American Legion and the Bedford Lions Club.

He enjoyed bowling and playing cribbage. His favorite pastime by far was golf. He spent many winters in Bradenton and Ellenton, Florida enjoying the weather and playing golf. He was extremely proud of his ability to play into his 90’s.

Shortly after returning home for the Navy in 1947, he married his first wife Dolores “Dolly” Boulanger. They were married for 23 years until her passing in 1970.

He married his second wife, Collette Poisson, a widow with 5 children, in 1972. They were married 36 years until her passing in 2008.

He was fortunate to meet Belle Dodge later in life. They spent 10 years together until she passed in 2024.

Leo is survived by his 4 children, Muriel (Doug) Williams of Manchester, Priscilla Grenon of Thetford Mines, PQ, Normand Grenon (Joanne) of Laconia and Denis Grenon of Bedford.

His step-children, Claudette Leonard of Manchester, Constance Cameron of Orange County, FL, and Joanne Grenon of Laconia. His brothers, Claude, Roger and Paul of Manchester.

Combining both marriages, he had 23 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Leo was pre-deceased by his first wife Dolores (1970), his second wife, Collette (2008), and his partner Belle Dodge (2024). His step-sons, Norman Poisson and David M. Poisson as well as several siblings.

Visiting hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, will be Saturday, March 15th from 10 to 11:45 am, followed by a service in the funeral home chapel at 11:45 am. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date for his immediate family.
