Leo Levasseur

September 26, 1930 — July 15, 2007

Leo Levasseur, 76, of New Ipswich, NH died on July 15, 2007 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born on September 26, 1930 in Manchester, NH. He was the son of Emile Levasseur and was raised by his aunt and uncle, William and Helen (Perron) Levasseur.

Leo served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was the recipient of the United Nations Service Medal.

Before retirement, Leo worked in sales in the transportation industry.

He was an active member of the American Legion, Greenville, NH, the VFW of Jaffrey, NH, the Knights of Columbus, Notre Dame Council and Mont Royal, Manchester, NH.

His main interest was his family and friends and he loved to be surrounded by people, telling stories or playing cards. A close second was baseball, having coached his sons for many years and he lived to watch them play. Music was another passion and he would while away the hours playing one tune after another on the piano.

Members of his family include his wife, Pamela (Lennon) Levasseur of New Ipswich; his children, Vivian Pilot and Phyllis Moore of Bedford, NH, Daniel Levasseur of Litchfield, NH, Kaitlin Post, Holly Desrosiers and Samuel Post of New Ipswich, NH.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Bedford, NH, Friday, July 20, 2007.
