Leo B. McCullough, 80, of Manchester, NH, died August 29, 2008 at the Catholic Medical Center with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Manchester on May 29, 1928, the son of William E. and Anna B. (McGinnin) McCullough. He was educated at St. Joseph High School for Boys.

Mr. McCullough served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict with the 508th Airborne Regimental Combat Team.He worked for the Manchester Transit Authority for over 37 years and retired in 1993 as Superintendent of Transportation.

Mr. McCullough was a member of the American Legion, Henry J. Sweeney Post #2, the League of One Thousand Men of the Monastery of the Precious Blood, and was a lifetime member of the 82nd Airborne Division Association.

He was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph Cathedral.

His family includes his wife, Estelle (Labonte) McCullough of Manchester; one son, John McCullough and his wife Joan of Bedford; one grandson Connor McCullough; a sister, Rosita Parady of Manchester; several nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is also survived by three step-children, Mark Cagnetta of Manchester, Michele Cagnetta of No. Hollywood, CA, and Patrice McColley of Haverhill, MA; three step-grandchildren; He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and William McCullough and one sister, Joan Garrity.

A funeral Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 in St. Joseph Cathedral. Burial with full military honors followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
