Leo-Paul A. Chauvin, 101, of Manchester, died June 17, 2015 at Hackett Hill Health Care Center after a period of declining health.
He was born in Woburn, Quebec, Canada on April 19, 1914 to Joseph and Rose (Lavigne) Chauvin. He lived in Manchester for many years.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Chauvin worked at Anchor Manufacturing for 40 years and part time at the former Bank East for nine years. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans, the Civil Air Patrol Hooksett Squadron for 38 years, the Knights of Columbus and the Sylvania Motorcycle Club. He was also a Ham Radio operator and a member of AMSAT.
He will be remembered as a person who enjoyed challenges.
He was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Gabrielle (Leclerc) Chauvin in 2012 and by several siblings.
The family includes four children, Guy Chauvin of Colorado Springs, CO, Doris Lupien and her husband, Marcel, of Candia, Marc Chauvin and his wife, Jane, of Bartlett and Paul Chauvin and his wife, Lorraine, of Manchester; eight grandchildren, Karrie, Jennifer, Lynne, Jeffrey, Xana, Nia, Paul and Daniel; six great grandchildren, MacKenzie, Reilly, Liam, Jackson, Maeve and Amelia; a seventh great grandchild, due to arrive in July; a sister, Sr. Denise Chauvin, PM of Manchester; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hackett Hill Health Care Center for the compassionate care they provided to Leo.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at St. Anthony Church, 172 Belmont St., Manchester. Private burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
