Leo Joseph Pelletier, 99, of Manchester, NH, passed away on October 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Manchester on June 15, 1925, Leo was the son of John and Irene (Martel) Pelletier. He was educated in Manchester schools, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After being discharged from the Navy, Leo reunited with Rachel Belanger. They later married and shared 68 wonderful years together. For over 25 years, Leo worked as a sales manager for Sunbeam Bread. He was also employed at Workplace Systems and Northern Foreign Auto Parts. A man of many passions, Leo was an avid golfer who also enjoyed bowling, ballroom dancing, and playing cards, especially cribbage and tuck. He enjoyed all Boston sports, especially the Red Sox and Patriots. Summers at the family camp with loved ones brought him immense joy. His greatest treasure was the time spent with his family. Leo will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Leo was very generous, loyal, and humble. He was a lifelong member and supporter of his Church. Leo was a Catholic War Veteran, and a board member of the Pinardville Lions Club. He and his wife Rachel were strong advocates for young adults with developmental disabilities. They were members of a family support group which was the beginning of what would become The Moore Center. Leo was predeceased by his wife Rachel (Belanger) Pelletier, in 2016, as well as his siblings Edith St. Onge, Claire Bienvenue, Roland Pelletier, and Rita Beique.Leo leaves behind his children, Maurice Pelletier and wife Suzanne of Leavenworth, KS; Janet Pelletier of Hudson; Robert Pelletier and wife Carla of Nashua; Diane Pelletier of Goffstown; Richard Pelletier and wife Silvia of Bedford; and Daniel Pelletier and wife Kelly of Orlando, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kathryn (Eric), Nicole, John (Theresa), Kevin (Elana), Bethany (Michael), Laura (Justin), Steven, Maurice (Katarina), Bryan (Kaitlin), Abigail (Brent), Wesley, and Thomas; 10 great-grandchildren; his sister, Therese Turcotte of FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.Visiting hours will be held at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, on Saturday from 9 to 11 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am at the Parish of the Transfiguration, corner of Kelley and Alsace Streets.The Pelletier family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Courville Nursing Home of Manchester and CMC Hospital for their compassionate care and support.
