Leon A. Proulx

Leon A. Proulx Sr., 91, of Manchester, died May 9, 2005, at Catholic Medical Center after a period of declining health.

He was born in Manchester January 12, 1914, and was the son of Napoleon and Emilia (Boisvert) Proulx. He was a lifelong resident of this city.

Mr. Proulx served in the Navy during World War II.

He retired from J.F. McElwain Shoe Co. where he worked for many years.

He was married to Valeda A. (Boisvert) Proulx who died in 2001.

Family members include four sons, Gerald H. Proulx of Hampton, Leon A. Proulx Jr. of Hanover, Roland Proulx and Armand Proulx, both of Manchester; a daughter, Lorraine Angers of Manchester; 29 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday May 11, 2005 at Sacred Heart Church. Encryptment followed in Mount Calvary Mausoleum.
