She was born on January 1, 1921, in Manchester, the daughter of William and Julia (Denaw) Phillips. She was educated in the local schools and was a graduate of Manchester West High School.
Prior to retirement, she had been employed by the Bedford Nursing Home for many years. Previous to that, she had worked in the payroll department for J.F. McElwain Shoe Company.
Leona loved to spend time at her home working on her yard and entertaining family and friends. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox.
She was predeceased by her husband, James W. Rogers in 1989, and two sisters, Lillian Kortz and Dorothy Johnson.
She leaves behind her daughter, Bonnie L. (Rogers) Romanos and her husband Charles Romanos of Manchester; one son, James A. Rogers and his wife Bessie Rogers of San Diego, CA; close friends, Al and Linda Lambert and their daughter Kelsea of Goffstown; nephews and nieces.
The funeral service was held Thursday October 4, 2007 in the funeral home chapel. Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery.
