Leonard Denis, 87, of Manchester died November 27, 2009 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a brief illness.
He was born in Claremont on October 28, 1922, the son of Antonio and Aldea (Picard) Denis. He resided in Manchester for most of his life.
In 1943, he graduated from St. Mary High School, Claremont and then entered the US Navy.
Mr. Denis worked as an accountant for the Association Canado-Americaine for over 30 years.
He was a member of VFW Post 79, and the Catholic War Veterans.
He was an avid Boston sports fan.
IN HIS LIFE: The family includes his wife of 61 years, Rita (Issoire) Denis of Manchester; four sons, Leonard M. Denis and his wife, Mary, of Montreal, Quebec, Francis B. Denis and his wife, Paula, of Manchester, Stephen J. Denis and his wife, Joy, of Bow, and Marc P. Denis and his wife, Cheryl, of Goffstown; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St Joseph Cathedral, corner of Pine and Lowell streets, Manchester on Monday, November 30, 2009 Burial was at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
