Leonard " Lenny" Duval

November 17, 1935 — May 29, 2022

Manchester

Leonard (Lenny) William Duval (86) of Ocala, FL formerly of Manchester, NH, Northwood, NH, and Bradenton, FL passed with his heart filled with gratitude for his family’s love and care.

He cast a wide net when it came to family, opening his door to many and generously sharing his love and values.  Those who knew him as Dad, Papa, Uncle, Friend or just “Mr. D” were fortunate to be surrounded by his kind and genuine soul.

But his best friend was his wife Patricia, whose passing only 9 months ago left a void that could not be filled.  Their 66-year marriage was a blend of joy, hardship, sadness, trouble, compromise and undeniable love. And the many journeys they endured together created the bond that shaped their family.

In his life:  Lenny was educated in Manchester schools and went on to be the proud owner of Leonard W Duval, Inc. Painting for more than 30 years.  The business was a true institution built on his strong integrity that he willingly opened to so many others who appreciated the chance to work and to learn from him.

A devout Catholic, Lenny was a long-standing member of St. Joseph Cathedral and its choir in Manchester.  He was tireless with his volunteerism whether coaching Little League, cooking St. Patty’s Day dinners at the church and at the mobile home park where he served as association president, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and president of the Lions Club where he prided himself on their contributions to improving Camp Allen.

He loved spending time with family, especially at Northwood Lake where he enjoyed the laughter from whoever dared to go tubing behind his boat.  His special potatoes, countless games of whist and maybe a few parties are cherished memories.

Family members include his children Deborah Duval and her partner David Billups of Ocklawaha, FL, Jeffrey Duval and his wife Karen of Manchester, NH; daughter-in-law Debbie Duval also of Manchester, NH, and Lori LeBlanc of Bedford, NH.  Grandchildren are Ryan Remillard and his wife Tiffany and Brett Remillard and his wife Tamela, all of Ocala, FL; Brianne Volpe and her husband Anthony of Tallahassee, FL, Stephanie Duval of Manchester, NH and Lex Duval of Nashua, NH; sisters Lucille Vigneault and Connie Demers.  Lenny also had 9 great-grandchildren who lit up his life, especially when he needed it most, as well as several nieces and nephews and dog buddy Zoe.

He was predeceased by his wife Patricia, son, Daniel, granddaughter Kristi LeBlanc, grandson Chad Remillard, his mother Claudia (Dextras), father Omer, brothers Maurice, Ray and Paul; sisters Pauline Pellerin and Madeleine LeBlanc.
