Lillian I. (Belisle) Parenteau, 97, of Manchester, died May 14, 2025 at Catholic Medical Center after a period of declining health.


She was born in Manchester on May 6, 1928 to Napoleon and Auree (Abel) Belisle Jr. She grew up in Hooksett and graduated from Central High School in 1946. She lived all of her adult life in Manchester.

Lillian worked at Corflex, Inc. in Manchester for many years. She also worked at other various knitting mills in the Manchester area. She was a communicant at the former St. Theresa Church and at Blessed Sacrament Church, both in Manchester.

She liked to make clothing for family, sewing, crocheting and knitting. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lucien A. Parenteau in 1978; a son, Philip O. Parenteau in 2024; a daughter-in-law, Christine Parenteau in 2020 and six siblings, Victor Belisle, Andre Belisle, Leo Belisle, Dorothy Dubrowski, Irene Gravel and Lena Campbell.

Lillian is survived by ten children, Yvette Barry and her husband, Leward, of Manchester, Paul Parenteau (husband of Christine) of Groveland, MA, Doris Child and her husband, Fred, Norman Parenteau and Donald Parenteau all of Manchester, Theresa Kellett and her husband, Tom, of Auburn, Roger Parenteau and his wife, Donna, of Dunbarton, Anita Remillard of Manchester, Rita Carney and her husband, Tracy, of Auburn and David Parenteau and his wife, Amanda, of Derry; 22 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; two siblings, Yvonne Beany and her husband, John, of Chester and Roger Belisle and his wife, Claire, of Hooksett; and many nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: Calling hours are on Wednesday (5/21) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday (5/22) at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Elm St., Manchester. Committal prayers will follow at St. Augustin Cemetery, South Beech Street, Manchester.
