Lisa Marie Bean 62, of Manchester NH, passed away on February 8th after a courageous 4-year battle with cancer with her family by her side. She was the loving partner of Jonathan Bartlett for the past 13 years.
Born in Manchester NH on April 28, 1960, the daughter of Joyce and Aristotle Chloros, she was raised in Auburn, NH where she attended local schools. She went on to graduate from Plymouth State College in 1980. Lisa worked in the advertising and banking field before marrying Rick Bean in 1988, moving to Portsmouth, NH and having two wonderful children.
She was a dedicated mother and talented seamstress and baker, always making sure Arielle and Jordan had homemade treats to bring to their various activities, making them elaborate Halloween costumes and knitted sweaters for everyday wear. Her talents extended to anything she put her mind to, from baking and sewing to the everyday needs of her family and friends.
After her children were of school age, Lisa herself returned to school at Notre Dame College in Manchester to fulfill her goal of becoming a teacher. She graduated valedictorian in her class and went on to teach at Sacred Heart School in Hampton, NH for 15 years then moving back to Manchester where she taught in the Bedford school district for 3 more years. Lisa was a very gifted teacher that truly had a passion for her students and worked very hard making sure they learned a lot but also had fun as well. She was very famous for her whoopie pies! In the final stretch of her career, she went on to become a bookkeeper, working with Jon for the last 6 years.
In her very short retirement, she loved doing her crafts and having the time to read and travel. This would have been the first winter she and Jon spent at their home in Scottsdale AZ.
One of Lisa’s greatest moments was when she became a Nana back in 2016, sharing in the joy of welcoming two more grand children into the family over the past 7 years. She loved them all with everything she had and was over the moon when the first granddaughter, Hadley McGonagle, was born in February of 2022.
Lisa will be remembered for her creativity and kindness and for being a great and loyal friend to everyone. In her battle with cancer, she always had a smile and nothing but positivity and strength, still putting others above herself throughout the fight.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Arielle Bean Husband Markus Schaaf and Jordan Bean and his wife Amanda. She also leaves behind her partner Jonathan Bartlett, his daughters Katherine Bartlett Grandson Nolan Kobus; Ellyn McGonagle husband Cory and Grandson Austin and granddaughter Hadley. She also leaves two sisters Deborah Caruso Dubois husband Wayne and sister Angela Chloros and all her nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to her cousins John and Barbara Willenbucher for their tireless help, taking Lisa to her appointments and always being there until the last moment of her life.
