Lisa H. (Hornaday) Swanson, 63, of Manchester died on October 30, 2021, at her residence, after a period of declining health.
Born in Royal Oak, MI, on July 11, 1958, she was the daughter of the late James R. and Jane C. (Whinrey) Hornaday. She received her bachelor's degree in art from Michigan State University and was a self employed graphic design artist and owned and operated Second Story Design for 20 years before retiring in 2018.
Lisa enjoyed reading, painting with watercolors, weaving, collecting sea glass, annual family vacations, time spent at the beach, and time with friends. She had an avid passion for wild flowers since childhood and was a cat lover. A former member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Manchester, Lisa was a dedicated supporter of human rights and equality. She was beautiful, caring, inclusive and extremely creative. Above all else, she will be remembered as a devoted and loving partner, sister and friend.
Lisa is survived by her best friend and partner for the past 25 years, Parker Prescott of Manchester; one sister, Betsy Dimmel and husband Brad of Atlanta, GA; one brother, Richard Hornaday and wife Teresa of Cary, NC; nephews Benjamin, Brent and Jay; niece Kathryn; and four of the dearest friends that a person could ever have, Didi, June, Karen and Marty. She was predeceased by both of her parents.
While there are no services for Lisa at this time, a memorial service is to be scheduled at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Manchester once COVID-19 restrictions allow. Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
