Lois was born in Worcester, MA on January 28, 1931, the daughter of the late John J. Barry and late Eunice (Carr) Barry.
She was a resident of Manchester, NH where she was a 1948 Manchester Central High School graduate and was chosen Miss New Hampshire cheerleader her senior year. Upon graduation, she attended and graduated from Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene at Tufts University.
She resided with her family in Amherst, NH for 18 years, as well as Gilford NH and Black Cat Island on Lake Winnipesaukee.
Mrs. Steeves was a dental hygienist and worked for many local dentists in the Manchester and Laconia area.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bradford Steeves; and her brother, John J. Barry Jr.
The family includes four daughters, Sharon Wasson of Eureka MO, Kathleen Sexton of The Woodlands, TX, Carolyn Johnson of Brookline, NH and Elizabeth Cullinan of Merrimack, NH; seven grandchildren, Brad, Erin and Tyler Wasson, William and Colleen Sexton, and Grant and Briana Johnson and three great grandchildren, Joseph, William and Hollis Wasson; and a sister, Marilyn (Barry) Bauser of Gig Harbor, WA
Lois was a lifelong lover of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox and traveling to the islands. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who loved her.
There was a funeral service held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester NH. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford NH
