She was born in Melrose, MA on December 11, 1921 the daughter of William and Mary (Donahue) Fortier.
Mrs. Dickson was a graduate of Wilton High School, Wilton, NH and served in the Women's Army Corps during WWII.
She lived for a brief time in Suffield, CT and had been a resident of Manchester since 1958.
Mrs. Dickson was an active parishioner of St. Catherine Church, Manchester.
She was a loving mother of six children and dedicated many of her years as a homemaker. Loretta loved spending time at her summer home in Alton Bay, NH with her family and grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

She was predeceased by her husband Carl H. Dickson, former station manager of Delta Airlines in Manchester, who died in 1982; a son, Carl H. Dickson Jr. and a daughter-in-law, Karen Dickson, along with 10 brothers and sisters.
Family members include 3 sons; William F. and Karyn Dickson of Bow, NH; James A. Dickson of Rochester, NH; Michael J. and Debra Dickson of Alton Bay; 2 daughters, Robert and Loretta M. (Dickson-MacEachern) Thompson of Manchester; Patricia J. (Dickson) Cavanaugh of Manchester; 1 brother, John J. Fortier of Wolfeboro, NH; 10 Grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday September 26, 2005 in St. Catherine Church, 207 Hemlock St., Manchester. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Goffstown Rd., Manchester
