Lorette E. Fortier

Lorette Elise Fortier, 89, passed away on January 18, 2019 at the Catholic Medical Center after a period of declining health surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Manchester on May 4, 1929, she was the daughter of George A. and Marie (Chauvette) Chalifour. She was a communicant of the Parish of the Transfiguration.
Lorette was a graduate of St. Marie High School, class of 1946. She enjoyed playing cards, reading and solving crossword puzzles. She loved to spend time with family and friends.
She worked at Public Service Company of New Hampshire for many years and also worked at Saint Anselm College.
She was predeceased by her husband, Herve J. Fortier last year.
Family members include three sons, Richard Fortier and wife Louise of Bedford, Dennis Fortier and wife Diane of Manchester, Marc Fortier and wife Linda of Manchester; one daughter, Diane Fortier and fiancé Mike of New Boston; six grandchildren and spouses; four great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Maurice "Moe" Chalifour of FL; one sister, Pauline Cassidy of Manchester; several nephews, nieces and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Lucille Perron and Jeannette Filteau.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, January 25, 2019 in Parish of the Transfiguration, 107 Alsace St. Committal prayers followed in the mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
