Lorraine H. Beauchesne

January 20, 1921 — December 3, 2006

Lorraine (Hamilton) Beauchesne, 85, of Manchester, NH died December 3, 2006 at Sutton Hill Health Care Center, North Andover, MA, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Bushnell, FL on January 20, 1921, the daughter of James W. and Pearl (Miller) Hamilton. She was educated in the Bushnell School System and was a graduate of St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing, Pensacola, FL.

Lorraine was proud to have served as a US Navy nurse during WWII, attaining the rank of Ensign, and equally proud to recently view her name listed on the World War II Memorial in Washington, DC.

After raising her family, Lorraine resumed her career as a registered nurse in Manchester first at St. Teresa Manor and then the Women's Aide Home.

She was a founding member of the Ladies Sewing Club, a group of dear friends still going strong after sixty-five years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence R. "Larry" Beauchesne in 1986 and a son, Jeffrey R. Beauchesne in 1999.

Lorraine will be deeply missed by her family members which include her twin daughters, Cheryl and her husband David Means of North Andover, MA, Michelle and her husband Marc Pepin of Manchester; two sons, Richard and his wife Cheri of CA, Eric Beauchesne of ME, and her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Irene Sterling of FL, many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Burial with full military honors was held Thursday December 7, 2006 at the Veteran's National Cemetery, in Bourne, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to benefit returning war veterans through The American Legion Auxiliary, Care of Kim Strahdee, 25 Capital Street, Room 432, Concord, NH 03301 or to the American Cancer Society, 360 State Rte 101, Suite 501, Bedford, NH 03110.
